Happiness

Happiness is like LSD: It’s something I dabbled with in my youth and every now and then I’ll have a brief flashback.

Lost in Translation

Heard an interesting song in German, thought it my be poignant… still not sure.

Tocotronic’s “I’m Zweifel Fur Den Zweifel” via Google Translate:

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger
When in doubt, for breaking
The own uniform

When in doubt, for doubt
And for the puberty
If in doubt against togetherness
And normativity

When in doubt, for doubt
And against all restraint
in doubt for the devil
And the unbridled urge

When in doubt, for the bitterness
And my hot tears
Leaden is my time
And yet I must mention:

If in doubt for aimlessness
My people, hear me call!
If in doubt for discord
And for the intermediate

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger
When in doubt, for breaking
The own uniform

If in doubt for pampering
And for my crack
For the extreme fragility
For a will like wax

When in doubt, for the hybrid
From distant spheres
When in doubt, for trembling
At the sight of the chimeras

When in doubt, for the bitterness
And my hot tears
Leaden is my time
Remains for me to mention:

If in doubt for aimlessness
My people, hear me call!
If in doubt for discord
And for the intermediate

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger
When in doubt, for breaking
The own uniform

When in doubt, for doubt
And the Incomprehensibly
For the inner contrition
If you show the teeth

When in doubt, for folding
Prior entire room
My life is disruption
My existence scandal

When in doubt, for the bitterness
And my hot tears
Leaden is my time
And yet I must mention:

If in doubt for aimlessness
My people, hear me call!
If in doubt for discord
And for the intermediate

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger
When in doubt, for breaking
The own uniform

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger

When in doubt, for doubt
The hesitation and anger

Homophobia: Pass It On

Perhaps you’ve driven down a country road, saw one of these billboards and sparked a positive thought even if only for a milisecond. Well you got played.

Ask “The Foundation For A Better Life” (values.com) (Philip Anschutz) why they’ll never have a gay person on a billboard.

I want to be so rich that I can’t fathom a single benefit to any social program.

Jay Reatard RIP

Jay Reatard (1980-2010)

I’m not going to pretend I was some huge fan or anything, but it’s still pretty sad. I really enjoyed a bunch of the songs off Blood Visions and hoped to have had the chance to hear more from him.

At least one post from China

My likely one and only post from China. It’s pretty interesting here. The only thing that keeps coming to mind is: watch out America. These people have a work ethic which is remarkable. What they seemingly lack in the specifics of higher education they make up for in desire to learn.
