Judee Sill – For A Rainbow Lyrics
as transcribed by me from the Bill Callahan cover version:
Where did our dreams all go?
If you touch me you could let me know
Like the storm breaks for a rainbow
We watched while love disclosed white forever (?)
Lets save moment glows
While the storm breaks for a rainbow
If i could only show how my heart breaks
And the memories flow
Like the storm breaks for a rainbow
You gave me more than know
But i’ll remember what we treasured most
When the storm broke for the rainbow
I’d give my life, my soul
if you love me once before you go
And let the storm break for the rainbow
Where did the rainbow go?

Capitalism in Wilkes-Barre
Hey Wilkes-Barre, Congratulations you made it in the new Michael Moore movie Capitalism: A Love Story… for sucking. I’m sure most of your children belong in juvie anyway, but you shouldn’t have tried to make money off it.
You’re not The Boss of Me
It’s become abundantly clear, Bruce Springsteen has only three good songs. Here they are in very particular order:
The Ghost of Tom Joad
Backstreets
Atlantic City
Spooky Tooth – Fillmore East – plus Groupies
Calvin Johnson covers Little Wings
I know some people will not really care for this, but I find Calvin Johnson intriguing… and he covers my favorite Little Wings song.
Alejandro Escovedo – Golden Bear
There’s a creature in my body,
There’s a creature in my blood,
Don’t know how long he’s been there,
Or why he’s after us.
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
But I’m as stubborn as a tree trunk,
A screen door in the breeze,
And like a wildcat in the summertime,
The sun can’t hide from me.
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Last night as I lay dreaming,
Caught an endless wave,
My brothers battled out behind me,
And formed a circle ’round my grave.
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Oh, why me? (Golden Bear’s running down)
Gammons on Camden Yards
The building of Camden Yards is the second most important event in Major League Baseball since World War II after Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. – Peter Gammons [paraphrased] 9/14/09 on Baseball Tonight

Is it known that the “Action, Action, Action!” portion of the theme to The State (1993) called “Boys and Girls” by Craig Wedren (of Shudder to Think) actually copies/rips off/homages the song “The Hickey Underworld” by The Nation of Ulysses off of Plays Pretty For Baby (1992)?
If not, than I am pointing it out. If so I’m just restating it.
Fig Newtons
Every couple of years I come across the packages of Fig Newtons in the grocery store, think of my grandmother, and then buy them. Immediately after taking my first bite, I’m taken back to Clark Street in Old Forge, PA where I fondly remember telling my grandmother that I hate these disgusting cookies.
