Movies & Film – Chris Flannery

The Wrestler in Scranton

No, the film is not yet playing in Scranton. There is however a Scranton reference in the opening credits:

Randy “The Ram” Robinson vs.Corporal Punishment – 1987

1987 would have been about the time I would have seen a few wrastlin’ matches at the good old CYC. I never did get to see Randy “Macho Man” Savage or Hulk Hogan, but I did get to see The Iron Sheik, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.

* Its an industrial railroad snow blower used for taking snow off alpine rails.

T. Rex – Born To Boogie (DVD)

born to boogie t. rex marc bolan
“some people like to rock, some people like to roll”

i didn’t know ringo starr directed this, therefore i accept the blame in being excited about renting this. well i’ll start off by saying this movie really demystifies [tag]marc bolan[/tag] and [tag]t. rex[/tag] – big mistake. they’re are not half as interesting as i expected.

the average age of fan at t.rex concert in 1972: twelve.

marc bolan is no more appealing than arlo guthrie in alice’s restaurant. not even his mad hatter hat is slightly humouros – just strange.

basically the “born to boogie” portion of the dvd is bullshit.

songlist: children of the revolution (w/ ringo and elton john): elton slamming ivorys with marc bolan’s head sticking out of the piano
spaceball ricochet (solo acoustic)(man this song is terrible)
Telegram Sam

Cosmic Dancer (solo acoustic) put me to sleep
